Hi guys,

I’ve always been a 5 string guy and since I haven’t taken my Jazz out of the house in the last year, I think it’s time to move on and pass it to someone who’s actually gonna use it.

A bit of history.

I’ve had the bass for 7 years and I always thought it’s originally natural but when I got it to my luthier for a check he said that it’s been stripped down - only his specialist eye could see that, I would have sworn it left the factory natural.

Plenty of mojo, varnish is wearing out - I love the look of it!

I bought it with non original pickups and then sourced the right ones - so now it has a ‘74 neck and ‘78 bridge pups. I believe they are genuine, bout them from a USA shop with plenty of positive eBay feedback.

The original neck is rosewood - frets are fairly worn. It is still absolutely playable but will need a re-fret if you want a really really low setup.
Second neck is maple, made in Japan. Bought it off here when I was chasing that magical MM Tone. Brilliant neck.

As far as I am aware the pots and the plate are all original. Tuners and harness too. I have replaced the jack socket as it was worn out but I believe I still have the original one somewhere.

Now I’m not really looking to sell it - I’m much more interested in trades of a similar value.

Zon, Pedulla, Modulus, Dingwall, Tobias (yes yes!), a decent precision (never had one), MTD (I wish...), Marcus Miller 5 or a Roscoe Beck... only 5 strings though! Not interested in 4s or 6s. Or 3s.
I’d consider any decent 5 string bass.

That’s it :)

I’m based in West London but I travel around for gigs fairly often and I wouldn’t mind driving up for the right bass.

Would you sell the rosewood neck separately? If so, how much? Cheers

Only if someone wants to buy the bass without it, which I highly doubt. Bump!

Offers and trade propositions posted in 'For Sale' ads are systematically deleted. They are to be made by Private Message (PM...) only.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

I understand it’s the forum rules but maybe leave at least the name of the member when deleting comments? As long as the said rule breaking comment isn’t displayed anymore, it’s not gonna hurt and I’d be able to actually contact the guy and discuss whatever he’s got to offer.

You're right, of course. I used to copy the entire illicit post and send it back to the perpetrator, so that he/she may compose a PM with the same information. Why don't I do that any more..? There's too many of the blasted things, darn it..! Am I getting slowly more and more grumpy in my advancing years..? Quite likely, but I've less and less time left to do stuff on this planet, so I am beginning to pick and choose.
Just for you, and just this once, the offer came from Chris Tommo ... If it was serious enough, you'd have received a PM directly by now, though.
Good luck with the sale, however, and thanks for posting. B)

Thanks a lot for that and of course I do appreciate that the forum needs to be moderated, otherwise it’d be a mess... I hear you about the age/grumpiness ratio (ask my colleagues, they’d have more to say about it 😂)

Hi. Pics would really help your ad and your sale. It would be easier for us to see we're interested or not. Anyway, good luck in the sale.

I didn’t realise they’re all gone after the site’s face lift...
