Best Strings for Stingray 5 String tuned down to Bb

I've just been asked to join a superb 3 piece but unfortunately they tune down to Bb

I auditioned with my SR5 and while it performed admirably, the low B was rather floppy handling the semitone drop. I current use Elixirs but would like some advice on a slightly higher tension string to cope with the down tuning.

You can't tune down to Eb on a 4 string?

Surely it's not that big a step?

I think he means Bb?

I tend to use Ernie Ball strings on my SR5, having tried lots of other types - I have had the Super Slinky pink pack 5 string set on for about 6 months and have been very impressed - gauge is 125 to 40. The low B sounds very tight and focussed (including recorded) and the whole bass sounds excellent - very well balanced sound.

Thanks chaps. You're right. I did mean tuning the B down to Bb

DR do those drop tuned strings (DDT) they might do!! I'm trying to imagine how thunderous a SR5 HH with a low Bb sounds!!!!

I use a heavy set on my SR5, the B dropped to A.
