[/quote] Most of that whole album (American Recordings IV) improve on the originals I think. Cash lends gravity and power to songs like Desperado, Bridge Over Troubled Water, We'll Meet Again etc, songs which I'd never liked before. A fantastic album. Listening to Jimi Hendrix's live version of Like a Rolling Stone is a semi religious experience for me. Metallica's version of Bob Segar's Turn the Page is awesome. During their Hendrix set they played All Along the Watchtower, and to this day i can still remember the power of how they played it. Absolutely awesome - real next level stuff. Sadly they packed up a couple of years ago.
