For sale this old school yamaha I recently got in a trade.
Made in Japan in 1993, immaculate condition for it's age.(apart from a couple of hairline scratches visible in one of the photos on the back that are only seen in reflections)
Amazing construction (the bass feels very nice and sturdy in your hands) and superb playability.
Usual specs
33"7/8 scale
18-19mm spacing at bridge not actually sure, tends to feel more towards 19 I think
ebony fingerboard
piezo bridge with blend for magnetic pickups
alnico j and p pickups
volume, blend of magnetic pickups, bass, treble, blend magnetic/piezo
slap switch.
4.6 kg

Very nice bass for recording which I tried and say from personal experience.
Reason for selling is because I still prefer my ceramic loaded stingray 5 for my tonal needs.
Everything works as it should (truss rod, bridge, keys, pickups, pre amp) and very low action
is possible.

Paypal and bank transfer available.
Will come properly packaged with a semi hard case, or a yamaha hard case. (not the original one).
1050 pounds/1150 euros shipped to uk and eu.

Thanks for your kind words guys, yes she is a beauty indeed.
I should also point out that I'm located at eu Athens Greece.

@kumimajawa I hear no rosewood,I see no rosewood, I speak of no rosewood (damn
that's self defeating) so I find no reason of not exporting something that obviously has
no rosewood....

@PeteHantzios Unfortunately, the service manual lists rosewood as a part of the body (the darker lines, I think), so I'm afraid if I can find this out, then certainly the Japanese customs would too - I expect they're pretty keen on checking these things, especially since initially the instrument was built here.

But - in case this is still around by the next time I visit Europe, I may well be in touch :)

Hi, actually it is.
Only to be honest a little bit more hesitant from my part..
I have started bonding with it:)

To clarify, the yamaha was a little picky at the beginning to
adapt to. After trying several sets of string and setups, I managed
to start understanding the bass and what I can/should do with it.
I like it so much now, that I was thinking perhaps withdrawing it and listing the
ray.
Oh well...
After all my goal is the purchase of a custom bass.
If you are interested, send me a pm.
cheers

@PeteHantzios: Please feel free to add the text below to your feedback :-)

I have to say Pete is a great guy. The bass has just arrived OK. Before I bought it, I got all the details I needed about the instrument, detailed photos, and a truly recorded sound sample (very useful for my decision). In enjoyed the fast and honest communication including a phone call. The bass was really well packed for international shipping. Every piece of information showed to be true when I got the bass. Pete, you have my high recommendations :-)
