Marleaux Soprano

I was looking at something along these lines recently - but this is scarily expensive. Have you considered one of these:

I was thinking about modifying the body shape to something more pleasing on the eye.

The marleaux is very pricey that's why I was wondering. I'm not sure about the rubbery strings on the u-bass options.
In a nutshell I'm looking for a portable bass that I travel with (on a motorbike) that doesn't have rubber strings. I don't mind using an octave pedal.

Anyone have an experience with one of these (Marleaux Soprano) or an extra short scale bass?

Yes Eubassix (David) of this forum, has owned a Marleaux Soprano which I got to have a little go of. It was tiny but really cool. Which was made just as well as the full size guitars.
I shall pm him and alert him to the thread and no doubt he can give more info.

I believe it should be ready at the end of this month.

Great! I tried one at the LBGS and really liked it. I also just got a wingbass which is superb.

Look forward to seeing yours.
