Don't know much about the BC Blockhead but if you're looking for a cheap Jazz then check out the Squier CV in Inca Silver - http://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/squier-classic-vibe-60s-jazz-bass-inca-silver - that is the best price I've seen it at in the UK. I paid nearly £80 more for mine and love it to bits, awesome quality for the money and sounds very very good.

The Inca silver CV Jazz really is a thing of beauty. To my eyes it's the coolest looking Jazz right now.

I tried out a few Bass Collection basses the other day and I was really impressed with the quality, especially for the price.
The ones I looked at were well made, a good weight and nicely finished.
I use a different Bass Collection bass (Blockhead / NWR Signature Bass) and I'm more than happy with that and the Elite strings that came with it.
