Fender Noir Redline Precision Bass

Just came across this - a new, very affordable, Fender P-Bass.

http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/fender-special-edition-noir-redline-precision-p-bass

It doesn't seem to have been mentioned on here yet. Thoughts?

It's an unusual look and I can't decide if I like it. I really want a black p bass at the mooment but I feel like the red would bother me. Also, I can't help but think a Fender logo at that price suggests corners being cut somewhere, quality-wise. Am I being overly cynical? Maybe it's the next Matt Freeman!

Aaaand - It's the 80s again.

Fender - if you're going to do it, at least do it properly.

Ah, the black and red Washburns - Force 4?

Force 8 BBR, I think - don't think the Force 4 had binding.

Someone on BC a few years ago had a headless Force 42 BBR. And I couldn't afford it... :(

Am I missing something.? It just looks like a black P bass with some red on it and a black headstock. Whilst saving money and not glossing the bass.

One of the more pointless exercises from Fender,s marketing team.

Yeh I'm not overly enamoured with it either.

Kind of reminds me of the Epiphone "Gothic" series that came out around the peak of "nu" metal's popularity - basically the same old LPs and SGs but with a matte black finish.

Admittedly the black satin finish on this one looks quite nice...but I think it's a bit bold to call it a "brand new model"!

I bought one and it plays great. I really liked the red pin stripe accent around the pick guard. It caught my eye. I did add some more eye candy to it around the pickup, the pickguard along with some new volume and tone knobs. I've also had it autographed by the entire band of the Iron Maidens and Burning Witches at a show they did here in Annapolis, MD.
