FWIW, it's took me quite a few months to get anywhere near comfortable with a 6... I took my first 6 (my fretless Modulus) out on tour with Howard Jones just a few weeks after I got it - that was a trial by fire!!

But it took some time to really get used to, especially for certain techniques (slap on a 6 is still tricky, though hugely rewarding when you get it right :) ) - might be worth holding onto for a few months to see how you get on... it's not going to lose any more value in that time...

If you make it up to Birmingham, I'll happily give you a free lesson for having the balls to buy it without trying it first anyway :D

(if I had the money I'd be buying it in a heartbeat - I'd love to have two of these ;) )

Have you considered having lessons on a 6, from someone who specialises in teaching said bass ?

I had lessons off Steve for a couple of years just after I started playing 6 string, I can highly recommend him.

I tried the 5er version of this at NAMM last week, and whilst this is a slightly different spec (being a 6), the pickups/passive tone & woods are the same.....it sounded so good!
This is a great buy for someone!
