Hi Things not going well here....thanks for the advice....info on bass below....

This is 1 of 4 prototype Calypso single-cut basses by renowned English luthier Gary Hutchins and is of course fully operational with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary himself and the Instrument Log..
Its is constructed of mahogany(?) and maple with a rosewood fingerboard and has all black hardware....balance is spot-on with full 24 fret access.
It has 2 blending volume controls and 3 passive tone-shaping controls, has an amazing array of sounds and tones that only a custom bass and a brilliant, striped through-neck can provide.
Excellent quality mini machine heads and a rock-solid bridge that all help to provide incredible sustain and a wonderful B string rumble. The action is great the neck is fast and easy for someone used to a 4 string to upgrade.
As you can see there is a jazz-style neck pickup and a soap-bar bridge pickup.

The bass comes with a strong and reinforced Hutchins, slightly road-worn hard case and an unopened, new lead.
It has never been used in anger and has one tiny mark on the top....please see picture 6, top of bass on front and not "touched in".....I would say that it is condition A due to strictly home use and its has ALWAYS been kept in its case. Rosewood fretboard regularly conditioned with Jim Dunlop Ultimate Lemon Oil 65.....the best!

TBH this is a bass for the collector, and there are many with jaw-dropping collections, or someone who wants total individuality, awesome playability, amazing sound and is proud of the UK's guitar building heritage. This is not a bass with the tonal limits of a P bass or entry-level offerings eg lightweight replicas or "fashion-followers" so you will enjoy its power and range.
I'm starting this auction at a ridiculously low price for a single-cut Ultra rare bass, with NO RESERVE, as it deserves to be challenged and used!.See what level of bass this starting price buys!

Please ask what questions you need. Price wise I'll take highest offers above the £200 and decide then.
Hope this doesn't infringe rules

Thanks
J.

Hi
I think they are an eq but the guitar is passive and all alter the sound quality differently....sound is great. I've had a BB1100s for 28 years and whilst it doesn't have the active punch I can't see anyone not pleased with the tonal quality.
OK...string spacing.....1 3/4 inches wide at the nut and 2 3/4 inches wide at the last fret.....hope this is helps. I cant see some one used to a 4 string having issues adapting to this neck.
Cheers
J

Hi Bass Apprentice.
You're right. It's for someone who isn't afraid to think out of the box just a tad. I've had the usual fare Yamaha, Fender, Gibson so not going to criticise anyone staying safe.....but some people pay extraordinary money for ACG, Fodera, Alembic etc etc and John Deacon mostly used a standard Precision.£200 buy you what in basses these days?
Many thanks for your help.
