This looks like a Fodera Monarch New Standard model? It's very similar anyway.

The limited run new standards were effectively the same as the Monarch custom bolt ons. The only real difference is that the customs were/are made to order for a specific customer or dealer whereas the new standards were batch built to sell as 'stock'

I've owned both and can't tell the difference between them. This isn't to detract from the custom bolt ons of course. They are great basses and simply a bolt on variation as opposed to more common dovetail or neck through models.

On the new Standard models, yes.
But this in a "New Standard" (unfortunate naming) and is by definition not a custom.
Read up on it or ask the people at Fodera.

Sorry Jens if the term "custom" does not please you, I know just that the bass was sold under this denomination "Fodera Monarch Custom", for info here the link of BassClubParis where the bass was bought :

http://www.bassclubparis.com/index.php/occasions/fodera/fodera-monarch-custom-4-cordes-detail

This is really my bass on this announcement.
I actually learned about the bass before buying it to know the difference between a standard model and a custom model, the answer was only on custom models, woods are carefully selected, in addition to having the head Inclined, which allows better adjustment of the height of the strings.

You are comparing it to the present Standard model.
Read up on the "New Standard"...

I own a 'New' Standard and can confirm the headstock is back-angled.

I missed the bass I had in sight, so back to a resonable price given that I'm no longer in a hurry [s]£[/s]3150 / 3700 €
but i really prefer a trade with a Ritter (4/5) or Wal (4/5)

I think Bass Club Paris may have mis-sold it to you with that description. I'd suggest you contact Fodera for information about this bass so you can hear it directly from them. It looks to be a New Standard model and while you can obviously ask for whatever amount of money you like, it might be difficult to sell at the price you'd like because this isn't a custom Fodera.

Quick google of Fodera New Standard throws up these basses. As has been mentioned previously, it's a confusing naming used by Fodera.

I have a New Standard and the truss rod access is in the headstock not at the bottom of the fretboard.

I used to have also New Standard Fodera and honestly I can tell that it was best Fodera that I ever had. And I used to have NYC, Imperial elite 5, Emperor elite 5 and Monarch Standard 4. Only one thing happened to it and it was that original preamp died and I changed it to Pope Flexcore 4 band and still I think that original preamp was far better. I honestly can recommend this Fodera. GLWTS:)

As an ex Fodera dealer I've played, and personally owned, a lot of their wonderful instruments.

I've hung on to just one and it's a New Standard. I really cannot tell any difference between these and any other bolt-on Fodera custom builds.

The New Standards are a very different breed to the 'regular' Standard range and, in my purely personal opinion, of a higher quality and I'd rate them as being more valuable to a player because of this.

As others have said though, it's important to be clear about the exact model as it does effect overall desirability to some people.
