isteen Posted October 1, 2016 Share Posted October 1, 2016 I have two Fender Jazz basses from Mexico. I would think they were identical, but they are not. One has block inlays, the other has dots on the fretboard. One has "Mexico" and serial number on the front of the head stock, the other has that information on the back of the head stock. Actually the pick ups does not sound exactly the same - one has more "bottom end" to the tone, although the PU's are stock PU's. Can anyone tell me more about mexican vs mexican Fenders? Lozz196 Posted October 1, 2016 Share Posted October 1, 2016 The one with the blocks looks to me like the Fender Classic 70s Jazz. Take a close look at the pickups and on this one the bridge pickup should be a tad closer to the bridge than on the other one.
