MrsDaveTheBass would like to know what EQ settings you're using!

LOTS of sub frequencies. There's a scene in Howard Stern's film Private Parts that springs to mind......

Errrm that's 'emojis' and don't Orange do it already?

An Orange tradition! I had a graphic 120 head in the seventies with one knob solemnly labeled the F.A.C. Never did figure out what it did so we all referred to it as the eff all control. My fave is the arrow breaking and bouncing off the snow-capped mountain.....

Coming back to the bass after a long hiatus (from essentially pre-internet), I am trying to (re)aquatint myself with the lingo.
One thing I am slight puzzled by is 'punch'. I thought I knew what it meant, but as the days go by and I read more (bass) forum posts, I am now not so sure.
So...is there a consensus/generally agreed upon/wildly differing definition of punch?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I missed the thread when this was discussed last month/year/Tuesday.

Based on the responses so far, I think that's a 'no'!

It would seem that way.

So seeing as 'punch' is effectively undefinable, why do almost all pickup manufacturers insist on using it as an adjective?

Probably because it is such a vague term that no one is able to complain about its absence.
