2016 Fender Flea Jazz.
Not really for sale.
Due to a new band I need a 50's style Precision.
Hope DamonJames will help me out with a testimonial to this bass. It's one of the very light and good ones IMO.
I have cleaned off the mucky film they put on the scratchplates.

TRADE REQUIRED REALLY.
I would VERY much like to give somebody this bass plus some cash for a splendid conditioned Fender American Vintage 57 Reissue Precision. Preferably Sunburst, but any really.

Please PM if you would like to talk.
Cheers,
Karl.

Surely this merits more explanation..? What '50s amp are you using for this new venture..? And what 'period' strings..? I'm glad I'm a drummer; would't want to have to play on a '50s kit..! Are your band mates equally as zealous as you, or are they a sensible lot..?

This forum would be the poorer without these topics, though..! :P

This breaks my heart Karl...

I was hoping you would hang on to this long enough to to shift my bass and get some pennies together.

After reading some of the horror stories on these basses, I instantly loved this one when I played it. The pickups are very full, and the neck pickup could almost pass for a p. Neck is very comfy and I have tiny hands, so don't stress about the slightly deeper neck profile. It is reliced quite heavily as you would expect, but it is very light, noticeable after playing his old Adam Clayton.

Someone is getting a steal!!!!

Thanks Damon, but the bigger shows aren't until next year and I'm very unlikely to get the trade I'm looking for.
So, I'll save up and you can save up :P.
Hope 1st contact was good :)

Switch to the neck pickup and say it's a '59.

Sadly they know jazzes weren't around in the 50's. It needs to be a P. They would like it to be blue, but that ain't happening

All you need to do is butcher the one you have and pretend it's the prototype!

No Jazz bass in the 50's...Tisk

If you've not already read it (and it would seem not...), could I suggest a perusal of Mo Foster's excellent book '17 Watts?: First 20 Years of British Rock Guitar, the Musicians and Their Stories'. You may not be so keen on a '50s STYLE bass after that..! :P Hofner 500/5, maybe..?

Sweet looking bass Karl - I'm sure it won't hang around too long at that price.

So how many basses have you been through this year?

One shall plead the 5th Pete :P

Basses?? I think it's only the FSR that survive from ANY of his gear to see the year out!!!
I bet there is a pool of seafoam green at the base of his guitar stand as it quietly sweats waiting to be shifted on too lol.

They are all passing strumpets compared to the love of my life :P

That's lovely Karl, on the basis of the 50s style Precisions I've played in the past I'd tell them to get stuffed and suck it up. No one in the audience will care or have a clue on the authenticity. If I'd got a 50s style i'd have gladly traded you and considered myself very fortunate.
