Massively overpowered with an old 175w xbox 360 powerbrick and a 9v regulator.
There are 3 12 volt rails, I'm only using 1.

That power brick must get very warm, mine has warped walls and furniture in its life.

With a new Cog 66 and a complete re-route (with help from: http://sheponbass.co...e-to-start.html) I thought I'd better post a pic.

Chain is:

Polytune mini > LS2 Send B > OC2 > MicroPog > Bass Big Muff > Cog 66 > 3Leaf GR2 > MF LPF (with Roland EV5 controlling the Cutoff) > Frequency Analyzer > CE2B > Carbon Copy > Return B LS2 > Ditto

LS2 loop A goes straight back into the return - giving me a clean signal to blend with the effected chain.

It's on a Swann board with a raised platform hiding all the power gubbins.

I don't think you need the patch cable between the send and return on the A channel, it should just control a clean volume without, as far as I know.

though about a big ole bass boost and or a comp in the clean channel, helps separate the dirt and stuff from the clean side of stuff I find.

Now I'm enjoying gainful employment, i'm building my board back up from it's "austerity barebones" state:

Got a Prometheus DLX and an Oxide. I do like the Prometehus but I'm thinking about moving it on, it just does way more than I need, I'm not going to get any real use out of the step functions, and it could be a little "quackier". Probably going to try and get a Wonderlove, as I loved my Groove Regulator.

I am however, very disappointed with the Oxide. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for me there's two useable sounds in it, and even those aren't very useful because the thing is so damn quiet, with fuzz and drive maxed I've had to boost the gain on the LS-2 to bring it up to unity. Why would you build a quiet fuzz pedal? Maybe I'm missing something, it is an early 1'st edition (#6 in fact) so he may have fixed it on later runs, but it's definitely not for me. Going to go back to the lovely loud mastotron.

The maker is quite active on talkbass, and there are a bunch of IE fans over there. You may want to share your experiences/questions with them. You may even find the maker will fix it, he seems keen to do the right thing by owners of his pedals.

I agree with the above. Taylor is very open to feedback. In my experience, if he can improve what you feel are shortfalls in the pedal then he will. It's certainly worth an email to address the issues and see what he says. Also, did you get it new or 2nd hand? If it isn't new, there is always the chance that its not performing correctly.

Got it off eBay, it doesn't sound bad enough to suggest it's broken, there's just less volume available than I usually like, I always like to have more than I need, where as the Oxide has just barely enough. I've had a quick poke around with a multimeter and everything seems to be in order. It's not just the volume though, the sound just isn't really for me, the gated synthy side is just too pinched. I've seen Taylor around TB and I've no doubt he's very helpful, but to me it's just not worth shipping a pedal I'm not too crazy about to America for mods or modding it myself when I can sell it on to someone who'll enjoy it more and get a pedal I know does what I want.

The oxide I had (2013 build) was very high gain as I recall, as with all the IE units I have had (pretty much all). Either the circuit was revised or you have a faulty unit, ask Taylor the question, the answer would probably help your sale! ;)

To be honest I think I may have overstated the volume issue, it's not that it's quiet, it's that it's just loud enough, I think I'm just missing the comfort of having that extra volume there if I need it, I just don't feel comfortable with full volume being just good enough. I'll drop Taylor an email anyway and see what he says, it might very well be that he upped the gain on later runs, if not he might be able to tell me what to look for.

In case anyone needs closure, I've been in touch with Taylor and he's confirmed that the early models had less volume, and in keeping with his reputation has offered to mod it to current specs for free. I think I'm still going to move it on though, the more I play it the more the volume isn't the only thing I don't like about it.

+1 Mine is goddamn loud! Can't really run either volume above 12 o clock or it gets a bit silly.

Update of mine. Latest is the Boss PN-2. Space is pretty well used up, but I still have one power output underneath... hmmm...

Gone back to the TFR and not regretting it!...It'll probably change again a week or so down the line, but for the moment I'm happy! :-)

Anyone have a recommendation of a wide, but not very deep pedal?
Just anything Boss/MXR sized turned 45 degrees?
Or maybe a landscape 1590BB (same as your Fuzzrocious Demon).
Any 1590a pedal?

Better close your eyes - there are four sideways pedals on my current board (five counting the wireless).
As they are all along the outer edges it works though.
And I have OCD too. :)
