[color=#3C3241]This mahogany bodied bass is new and is a tribute to the Carl Thomson basses used by Les Claypool in Primus. The MM-style humbuckers each have their own Volume and Tone controls. In addition, the tone knobs are wired in a variation of Peavey T40 wiring which allows them to sweep between single coil - series humbucker - treble rolloff. This wiring mod, together with the pickup placement gives a huge range of useable tones. I did consider adding an active circuit to this bass but decided the range of tones is already so large that an active circuit was unnecessary. [/color]

[color=#3C3241]The Zygote is nice and light at around 7.4lbs meaning you'll find it easy to play for hours without any kind of weight-related back strain. [/color]

[color=#3C3241]I have also added a black, single-ply control cover and retro Hi-Fi knobs to complete the boutique look. [/color]

[color=#3C3241]Despite being new there is a small blemish in the varnish on the back of the neck. This is purely cosmetic and only noticeable on close inspection. [/color]
