I've never used one, but lots of people refer to them being extremely loud for their conservative rating... :)

That's what I heard too. And they are supposed to be Tone City though I've not auditioned one.

If you're not bothered about weight, Moos is right. Lots of good old heavy stuff going cheap. There's an old Peavey World Tour head with an 8x10 at the rehearsal rooms I use and it sounds fab. Effortless and fat. Wouldn't want to carry it, mind.

Another vote for the Blackline 250. I use mine in a 5 piece playing small to medium pubs. A 4 ohm 2 x 10 with this amp is definitely enough unless you want it very loud. I never need to turn up beyond halfway. It does tend to break up a bit if you use an active bass in the higher output range though.

My lightweight combo is a TC Electronics BG250-112. Highly recommend it and not that expensive. Holds its own easily in my five piece rock band and four piece metal band.

I had the 115 version, also sounded good to me, although I was a newbie at the time so what did I know! I replaced it with a BH500 plus a BC210, again was very pleased with those. I see someone is selling a full gigging rig with a 410 as well for 400 on the gear for sale, deffo worth a look

I used to have a set of those in the 112 variety, found them a little bass shy for my liking.
The Rumbles kill them for tone imo.

Well thought I'd keep everyone updated...

Hopefully should be picking up a old eden nemesis 410 4ohm so will be a nice one cab solution. Now looking at a 250 - 300watt head to power it.

Whats the Lm250 blackline like guys? I had a lm2 running through a 8ohm cab, and it was great. Would i get the same kinda output with the 250?

The power output of the amp should be about the same, as a 500W head into 8 ohms will deliver about half of it's maximum rating, and should be similar to a 250W head at 4 ohms - but a lot will depend on the frequency response (and real impedance) of the cab. Not having used either Eden or Markbass cabs i couldn't comment on how they will actually handle that output...

Well to keep everyone updated, I've just pulled the trigger on a blackline LM250. Bought a Eden Nemesis N410RS 4ohm cab, which when picking it up, feels loads smaller than my old 104HF.

All in, my entire rig was under £300, so all in all, I think it should hopefully handle most gigging situations :)
