These new Yamaha electric guitars look lovely and something a little different to the generic Fender / Gibson camp and seems to be one at all price points.

This has caused me the first real bout of Gas in ages - that 502T series is beautiful!

I was looking at these in my local PMT on Friday.
In a shop full of the usual Gibson & Fender tedium they really stood out.

Did you have a play at all?

I'm really tempted to go for the 420 model as that seems a good balance between price / function. I'd happily shift on my Squier Classic Vibe to fund a purchase!

No, I didn't play any of them unfortunately as I wasn't in there very long.
I think they'd be a pretty safe bet though as Yamaha quality is always good.

Nice, you going to give it a review once you've had a bit of time with it?

Will do. Hope they have some left by the time I sell enough stuff. I am going to go to a one bass, one acoustic, one electric set up. Might take a while to get there.

Just noticed the prices...

What on earth makes the Bigsby version be worth two and a half times the cost of the entry level model?
[/quote]

Its hard to see exactly, but it seems the Bigsby one is made from different wood, has fancier pickups, locking tuners, different inlays, and has a fancy flamed maple top. And the Bigsby, obviously.

Whether that's worth the extra money or not I don't know.
