This is a Yamaha BB404F fretless bass in a natural finish.

It is a "Nathan East silhouette", passive, jazz-style bass.

[s]Price: £125, including delivery within UK.[/s] EDIT: bass is now sold

No trades at the moment, thanks.

Location is south-west London, if you want to pick up.

No gig bag included, sorry.

Digital bathroom scales weight: 3.2 kg ( 7.1 lbs).

Functionally, the electronics, truss rod, bridge, and tuners all work perfectly.

Strings are roundwounds (unsure of exact brand).

The knobs are not the original ones.

Overall cosmetic condition is ok/good:

- headstock: a few, very tiny dings.
- neck: good, feels like a Jazz; a few small scratches on the bottom side (cannot be felt when playing)
- front of body: overall ok; some light scratches viewable only on close inspection; slightly untidy around the pick-ups.
- side/back of body: many light-medium scratches

I was asked for some sound samples, so here is my best Will Lee impression...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7Iam5TnTKE

Recorded direct, tone up full, with no effects or post-processing.

The recordings start off mixed, so you can hear the bass in context. Then I gradually fade David Bowie out, to isolate the bass.

0:00 Both pickups
1:05 Neck pickup
2:08 Bridge pickup

To answer some questions received here and by PM:

No amp or cab was used for the recording; the bass was plugged directly into a Zoom R24 recorder.

I bought the bass second-hand less than a year ago. It has hardly been played at all in this time -- just the occasional noodle at home -- which is the reason for sale. (My dreams of being the next Gary Willis have been put on hold...)

Regarding roundwound marks: the fingerboard is fine. I would say there is very light string marking. I took a couple more close-up photos (link below).

There is some pickup hum. I've uploaded some isolated bass tracks of the start of each take, before I began playing. Turn the volume up and hear for yourself:
