Yamaha BB1025 Caramel - Traded
£850

This bass is the very nice caramel coloured BB1025.

This bass has a maple & nato 5 piece neck with nickel silver nut and the front face of the headstock has a vintage tint to it. The neck also feels smoother on this one than the BB425.

The body has the same through body stringing option as the rest of the BB range but this body shares the same 3 piece spline jointed body that the BB2025 has. It also shares the same electronics as the BB2025. This time the Precision alnico V pickup is capable of going from really mellow to really aggressive and the ceramic jazz pickup increases the top end and bite to the sound.

This is about as close as you can get to the BB2025 without spending big bucks.

Condition is very good and this has been looked after since day 1 as well. If you hold the bass to the light at a certain angle you can see some very, very light surface swirling but other than that the bass is tip top. If I had to compare this to something then it would be one of the top end non-custom shop Fenders

This bass comes with the factory supplied Yamaha gig bag which offers really good protection and has the usual pockets and so on. This bass is strung with D'addario EXL165-5 strings.

I am looking for £[s]600[/s] £525 posted within mainland UK.

The reason I am selling the BB1025 is it is far to be good to sit on a stand and not get played but at the same time I'm not in a desperate hurry to sell it.

Any questions, please fire away

Ive been thinking of selling my 1025 and going back to a p bass but only cos the band line up has changed and a p might suit better. Its the best built bass ive had and compares to stingrays ive had for fit and finish. Anyone tempted to buy with confidence they are awesome basses. Worth more than every penny!

I've had a good look and I can't find my scales anywhere so won't be able to get a weight for either bass. They aren't heavy basses but I wouldn't say that they are super lightweight either.

My Stingray feels heavier than either of these basses. Probably of no help unless you own or have owned an SR5 but the best I can do at the moment until my scales turn up.

It's so difficult to try to properly capture the colour of this bass so I've decided to find a stock picture and add it here

Looking online, most places are out of stock of these so it looks like they might be discontinued after all.

I've just weighed this at work and it's coming in at just over 4kgs or 9lb in old money. It's the first bass I've ever weighed so don't know if this is classed as light, heavy or average. Certainly comfortable for long function / wedding gigs which is what I have been using it for.

It balances slightly north of horizontal as is but with a set of ultralites it will sit at around 45 degrees and will be lighter as well

I had looked at that and they are meant to be very good but I don't think that it's what I'm after.

If you've never had one of these BB1025s before then you won't know what all of the fuss is about but this is an amazing bass so I'm probably going to run this to the end of the week and then hold onto it.

I'm having a real conflict here - I really don't need this bass but it's still a great bass so in another trademark change of heart, I've reduced the price to £525 posted within mainland UK but this is as low as I can go.

I may be interested in trades for other 4 string basses so please PM me before I change my mind again

Trades would have to be with cash my way as I'm going on holiday in a few weeks time. All spare cash is being turned into Euros at the moment :sun_bespectacled:

Check out this clip with a direct comparison between the BB1025 & BB2025. I can't really tell much of a difference despite the huge difference in price

I completely agree, this is a crazy price for this bass. That is why I've set the minimum amount I am willing to accept.

I'd also be up for a meet up somewhere if you are too far from me and don't want it couriered for the cost of my fuel which is pretty reasonable - my current car is getting about 50mpg. I'm willing to drive an hour in any direction so that would be probably Dundee heading north to Abington services heading south on the A74

I've just bought myself an acoustic bass so that's me sorted for one of those now.

I'd still be up for a trade for a lightweight 4 string solid body bass but it must be active. Maybe something from the Sterling by MM or Sub ranges or one of the Squier deluxe active models but I am open to other ideas. Any trade will need to be with cash my way or straight swap.

Alternatively, feel free to PM me a reasonable offer :hi:

We have an EBay shop at work, and some of the offers are really derisory 9rather like that one!)
If I see such a one, I'll usually go back to them with a 'nice try, but sorry we can't sell at that; how does this sound' kinda message.
EBay hates you doing it, but an outside the Bay deal saves all those pesky fees!

I know what you mean. I want to sell it but I'm not going to give it away.

I could've sent a counter offer but I didn't think that, considering their first offer, they'd go anywhere near what I want for it so I just declined it.

I'm going to keep this thread active until I go on holiday in a few weeks then withdraw it if it hasn't sold or been traded. I'm sure there will be a time in the near future that I wished I'd held onto it.

I've just realised that I have a set of Elixir strings that I put on this bass for 1 night then took them off as I found them too rough so I'll include these with the bass as well as the D'addarios that are on it. I cut them to go through the body so there's plenty of length on them if that's how you'd like to string them

Another couple of stock pictures added:
