Recommended Posts

According to some news feeds & twitter messages it appears that Lemmy has died.
Very sad news if it's true.

Looks like it is indeed true.

His attitude was needed in rock music, no compromise. Motorhead were a huge part of my life. A unique guy, a unique musician.
There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.
We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.

Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.
HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

Ahhh man, I saw the thread title, obviously it's been coming but f*^! what a punch in the gut that is

Maybe the loudest band I ever saw and he absolutely owned that stage. Noone who saw him
will ever forget Lemmy, a proper legend :(

RIP

Got to see him live in 2009 - Incredible presence on stage and very iconic to the genre. I'll always remember some very heavy pre-drinking sessions spurred on by Motorhead's music. RIP.
