SOLD... Loudspeakers – The cult status Epos ES14 with matching stands.

Recommended Posts

Grab a piece of HiFi history here, with a pair of the sought-after Epos ES14 loudspeakers. Bought in 1989 direct from the manufacturer. Designed and built by Robin Marshall, who played a small role in the design of the BBC LS3/5A. They use a minimal cross-over combined with drivers that mechanically roll off and seamlessly blend together as much as possible. They come complete with the matching steel stands, in need of a little touching up on the paintwork. These speakers are the second iteration, with the central bullet in the bass/mid driver, and each cabinet with single pair of banana plug inputs, rather than the later bi-wiring system. 1" custom design aluminium dome tweeter, and an 6.5" long-throw bass/mid driver, also custom designed. Braced internally via a tensioned aluminium rod.

There is a review here that is contemporary with the period of manufacture: http://www.stereophi...De9vS3Wt0XXA.97
I'll be looking for a straight sale rather than a trade, and the purchaser will need to collect so I can properly demo them and show them working.
