Bass Chorus - Your Favourite?

Recommended Posts

At the weekend I tried out the Moog MF Chorus, the Earthquaker Sea Machine 2 and the Nemphasis Bass Chorus.
The Moog was my least favourite, as it seemed to get too goofy/weird too quickly. The other two sounded great, very usable, but a bit more expensive.

Anyone else have any suggestions for good chorus pedals?

EDIT: I ended up going for the MXR Analog Chorus, very versatile and sounds great, the Sea Machine however is still my favourite sounding.

I have a chorus styled on an old boss chorus, the brown one, very nice indeed. Made by cog effects

But my fave is my moogclusterflux, a very similar chorus to what's in the smaller my chorus.

If it's any help, I tried a lots of different chorus tone-prints and decided I like flangers better. They seemed to suit bass more than chorus did, but that's just me.

Aguilar Chorusarus - just purchased recently and it is a fantastic addition. I like subtle chorus to add a little bit of depth and colour.

Worth every penny and really well built.

Tech21 Boost Chorus Bass, very versatile and I like the "non-wobbly" detuned sound you get by turning down the modulation.

And the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl, amazing pedal.

I'm not a fan of chorus on a bass. I have the Boss pedal, maybe that's why I don't like it, but to be honest I've never heard chorus and thought , ooh, that's nice. I never use my chorus.

+1 on the clusterflux. It beats all the others I've owned. I have a warped vinyl too which is amazing for vibes but the clusterflux still beats it for chorus.

Zoom 60B multi effect pedal. It has one or two different flavours so a bit more versatile (for me).

I laos have an old Boss Digital Dimension pedal (the lilac one) that i like for bass as it doesnt wobble as much. More a thicken tone.

What would you guys recommend as a rather bright. shimmery chorus? I'm more into smooth than any sort of warble. More air than water. The first chorus (first fx pedal in fact) I ever tried, DOD Deep Freeze, is still my favourite sound-wise. I did have two however, and both kept having problems with the footswitch. Now I'm kind of looking for one to have it rehoused, but they go for crazy prices and the rehousing can get expensive too. Anything currently in production that can fit what I'm looking for?

The Earthquaker Sea Machine V2 can make some very nice shimmery sounds, it's perhaps the best chorus I've used for both guitar and bass I think.
