Who are you seeing live next?

Spotted that Panic Room are playing in Leicester tomorrow so I may nip down for that. Have to find a route avoiding Donington though...Foss Way I guess.

Just got back from seeing Limehouse Lizzy tonight.
Two new band members, drummer and lead guitarist, both excellent.
Ears ringing, should have taken my earplugs.

Unless something else comes along before hand it will be The Bad Plus at Ronnie Scotts in July.

My lovely partner took me to see them at Ronnie's a good few years back for a surprise birthday treat. They were fantastic but she had not factored in the rather spontaneous set times at the venue and we had to leave to catch the last train just as they were starting up the second set. Have factored in a taxi ride into the budget this time around!

Having just been to Download last friday next up is the Blue Dot music and science festival at Jodrell Bank. The main music draws for me will be The Pixies and Orbital though there's loads of great science stuff too. Then it's off to Folk By The Oak at Hatfield House. Last year was brilliant and this year's line up isn't too shabby what with The Levellers and Kate Rusby. July's rounded off with Gary Numan in Leamington. Last saw him at Sonisphere where he was on top form. Gutted The Roots are playing just 2 dates in the UK, at the Jazz Cafe in London on 2 and 3 July.

Next for me will be BOC at Rock City. Yes, they are still going and, looking at their web site, not short of work.

Saw Gorrillaz at the demon dayz festival at margate dreamland on saturday, totally awesome show and all round musicianship. supports acts were really good too, FUFANU had a new order type vibe to them and were ok, De la Soul were amazing and have been wanting to see them for years. Vince Staples was good but not really my thing. Suprise of the day was Kano who was excellent and his band were amazing, liking grime wasnt on the cards. Gorillaz them selves were outstanding from start to finish with damon albarn on form with a carosel of supporting vocalists all of whom excelled, really glad my son asked me to go with him.
