Rosanne Cash when I go visit some family next month.

I saw her in a small local theatre a few years ago, where she had just her husband John Leventhal

accompanying her. Absolutely wonderful stuff, enjoy!

Got a few lined up for this year:

Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene at The Roses in Tewkesbury

Richard Thompson at the Bristol Beacon (very much looking forward to seeing Taras Prodaniuk on bass)

Delvon Lamarr Trio at Gloucester Guildhall (hopefully - tickets not on sale yet)

James, supported by Sleeper and The Pigeon Detectives, at Ludlow Castle

How would someone who considers Third a work of genius find the current incarnation?

I haven’t a clue! I kind of know their first album a bit but that’s about all. I’m aware this is a gaping hole in my musical education so I’m starting at the opposite end and will maybe fill in the middle bit over time…

I've got tix for Electric Eel Shock in Camden next month, they're always great live so I'm looking forward to that one. Just bagged tix for Therapy? later in the year and have seen Pissed Jeans and Chat Pile are also touring. Happy days!

Further embarassments of riches coming up in London:

Mike Stern at Ronnie's with Hadrien Feraud

Modern Standards Supergroup at the Forge with Felix Pastorius

Vincen Garcia at the Jazz Cafe
Kinga Glyk at the Jazz Cafe
Ida Neilsen at the Jazz Cafe
Nik West at the Jazz Cafe

Mononeon at Amazing Grace

(a) just got to decide on which to see and

(b) time to think about that Jazz Cafe membership

The current set prominently features a favourite from Third (despite of course no one in the current line-up being in the Third line-up!)

I saw them at New Cross Inn a couple of weeks ago, excellent.

recent albums Hidden Details and Other Doors are pretty good, and make up a significant chunk of current setlists. Regarding that middle bit - start with Bundles and Floating World Live and you'll be very well placed.

It was supposed to be The Grateful Dudes in Kings Heath tomorrow, but instead I will have to mend the dishwasher 🥲

So it's just Eric Clapton, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, Half Man Half Biscuit and the Dudes (again) to look forward to over the next few months. Mustn't grumble!

Just bought tickets to The War on Drugs gig at the Royal Albert Hall in July. One of my favourite bands, saw them at the Alexandra Palace a couple of years ago, they were brilliant. Really looking forward to it.

Saw them in Leeds on their last tour. So good live and was a mammoth set.
