My old Limelight is back up for sale. This is all I have to fund it.
I'm going to provide a link to Sean's build.
I will provide a tatty hardcase.
It has a NEW REVERSE HEADSTOCK, JAZZ NUT WIDTH Warmoth neck, satin finish. That cost me nearly £400 on it's own.
It weighs 7lb 9 oz, daft light. The TV Jones pup is very powerful.
There are a couple of paint chips. I will clean the bass before it goes( I was gigging it last night, see photo).
Yes, I did put the false Fender decal on the headstock. IT IS NOT A FENDER.
I am into this bass for over a grand however I want £700 cash plus £35 for insured mainland UK delivery.
That will buy me my old Limelight back.
Feedback at bottom of post.
A FENDER Custom Shop Dusty Hill will put you back well over £2k, this is a lot less.
Any trial in Wigan, any questions,
cheers,
Karl.

Only up until my old Limelight goes.

If you want to know how good this bass is, open the build diary link (in 1st post) and go to post #102 in the build diary.

Not to mention it's a bit of an eyecatcher :D

Cheers Neil :)

It's only been up a couple of days, but very little interest sadly.
So, it's either;
A Dusty Hill tribute , even this light, is too out there for folk, or folk think it's too expensive.
The latter, well there's about £1300 of top quality parts on this. Just try buying the pup, these model tuners or the bridge, never mind the neck, light swamp ash body and paint work.

Must be the former, I've not even had any lowballs to ignore

Could be the reverse headstock mate. That would put quite a few more reserved buyers off... not sure about it meself! :D

And this from a guy with a (admittedly stunning) headless Status  :P. Actually that's exactly why Dave wasn't keen on trading.

Still we are a "conservative" bunch us bassists, only Dusty I can think of with reversed headstock.
Mind, Jimi and Nuno didn't do so bad with them on the dark side.

Fairly sure this isn't going to go in time to get my Limelight back, so no big deal.

Bloody hell, I've only just seen this

Folks, you are going to have to trust me on this, as a previous owner of this bass who sold it for the most pathetic of reasons, that is I didn't like the way it looked (and I'm talking the body not the neck by the way, in fact I started hankering for the same bass with a natural finish and an SCP PUP, which is what I eventually ended up with) - this is an OUTSTANDING instrument.

And, as anyone who is anyone in the bass world knows, reverse headstocks are SO this year.....

So, for all you [s]ladyboys[/s] [s]weaklings[/s] [s]pansies[/s] unfortunate folk who need a lightweight bass, but a lightweight bass that rocks, THIS IS THE BASS. It is ludicrously light, in fact, all joking aside, that was another aspect of this bass I didn't really get on with, I'm one of the very small minority who actually like heavier (10lb-ish) basses. It punches well above that lightweight tone wise and is a dream to play - light, resonant and fast. For the money you won't get a better bass of this type, period.

And BTW, Karl is a true gent and a pleasure to deal with, so you will not have any problems whatsoever with the deal.

Chris, just a thought, but if you've still a hankering for your old bass, the neck on this one would suit me better.
So… if you bought your old one back, I could buy this off of Karl, and he could buy his old Limelight.
Could that work!?

Mmmmm, yes, that would work. I'm busy today but I'd agree to that in principle if that makes it easier for everyone to get the bass they want out of this.

Could we sort by PM to make sure we're all on the same page? Apologies if I'm slow to reply but will certainly do so by Sunday

Chris
