Aaaahhh beaten to the Battle of Britain theme by Rich, favorite film ever and also inspiring soundtrack that just fits!

This reminded me of another Spitfire themed movie "The First Of The Few" and Williams Walton's Spitfire Prelude and Fugue.

I like most of the Goblin themes for Dario Argento's film. Always menacing and intelligent. This is an example:

I forgot to come back to this thread last night. But I was going to post both Goblin and some Clint Mansell.

I saw Claudio Simonetti's Goblin last year which was great.

Several years ago I saw Clint Mansell, and the Sonus Quartet, performing music from Moon and other films Clint has scored.
I'm a big fan of Clint.

Some great mentions on here already - Bullitt, Dirty Harry, The Persuaders, The Sweeney, Get Carter etc...

I've always loved this one from my youth (and not just because of Alexandra Bastedo) and it really opens up after about 50 secs (for the series it was edited to finish after about 50 secs)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vERE274OdFc

I dunno how to embed a vid. Sometims it lets me and other times it doesn't, so I'll just list them:

Theme from The Rockford Files (Mike Post knows what he's doing)

Theme from The Professionals

Starsky and Hutch

ANYTHING by Lalo Schifrin
ANYTHING by Ennio Morricone

and Vince DiCola's work from Rocky IV will always have a special place in my heart.

oh, and John Williams's score from the original Star Wars trilogy is just some of the most amazing musoc ever.
