Tonetastic Posted March 18, 2015 Share Posted March 18, 2015 For sale only (no trades) for £600 (posted) is my Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 3EQ in white with a maple fingerboard. Included is the original hard case together with polishing cloth, etc. Date of manufacture confirmed by Ernie Ball as 8 March 2006. Bought shortly afterwards by me and used for a maximum of 3 months of infrequent bedroom practice only before being stored in its case under the bed in my spare bedroom for the last nine years or so. Due to its almost total lack of use, this bass is in mint "as new" condition with the exception of two cracks in its lacquer -- a very small one by the neck plate and a larger one by the bridge. These two cracks are only superficial and were not caused by use or abuse; instead, they happened during storage, although I don't know why because the bass was not subjected to any extremes of temperature or humidity. From what I can tell (e.g. the link below), it seems that the finish on some Ernie Ball basses can sometimes crack for no particular reason: [url="http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-basses/52188-lacquer-crack.html"]http://forums.ernieb...quer-crack.html[/url] The bass works perfectly and has all of the qualities for which Stingrays are rightly famous. Given that a bass of this type appears to currently retail for something like £1500, I believe that this bass is keenly priced to allow for the two superficial imperfections in its finish. Reason for sale: having not used the bass for c. 9 years, I've finally come to accept that I don't need to own it any more (plus, with a second child on the way, I could do with the extra space and money!). Sorry that I have not been able to reply individualy to all of the messages I've received (there were that many of them) but I have now provisionally sold the bass. If you have not heard from me it means that unfortunately I have not sold it to you. However, I have kept all of your details and if for any reason the sale does not work out I will get in touch with the next people on the list until I find someone who still wants this bass. Sorry for any disappointment and confusion caused by my late reply here and my lack of individual replies; I appreciate that they (together with me being a new member of this forum) might create some suspicion about whether this is a legitimate sale, but I promise you that it is, and I hope that whoever does get this bass will post on here to confirm that it was genuine.
