Manchester Bass Bash?!

Ok, I have been down there for a chat,

we can have if wanted a sunday afternoon in say feb. ( or any time)
food wise they can do a set price buffet or better still you can just order food from a menu and just pay for what you order,
Now i dont know how this works so please bear with me...

1) is it just for bass chatters ? ( in which case there may be a fee for the room if not many in.)

or

2) can this be open to public ticket sales, ? in which case they will let us have the room free if its akined to a charity.
now i have used the room a few times free raising cash for Backford hospital which is a hospital for the terminally ill,
hospice of the good shepherd, so very worthwhile,
http://www.hospiceof...hester-hospice/

so if it is "2"
then there are some local bass luthers, and also the ones you all know could get involved setting up stalls maybe, and i know one or two "very well known" bass players that might be willing to give us a chat,

As said i dont know how these things work,
and i know its not Manchester, but anyway its an option for a start.

Well done funkgod for trying to get a grip of this.

I'm up for it, perhaps the next move is get a couple of dates that are available and put them here,
Then pick the one that most are free for.

maybe a fiver deposit paypaled to funkgod would be a good idea if you decide you're up for it ?

That way if it falls flat theres no cost to the organiser.

I would have thought it just for Basschatters to be honest , If people in the next room are intrigued to see whats going on , well fair enough , but to charge a ticket you might get some random peeps demanding access to all the private kit. If we are all BC'ers , then at least there is some sort of hope that we know what we are doing if someone is trying out your precious rig :)

I will check on the price of the room and times then,

if i go from say 12 to be out by 6 as i think on sundays they have bowling in there later on
is that long enough ?

al get back to you as soon as,

If i book the room, would someone else like to take over the rest of what goes on ? (as i have not a clue )

if the rooms a go , all we need do is add our names to the list and collect the money on the day , not a problem here
If the date is a go-er I will set up a new thread and invite the masses , though I may take liberties and call it the NW bass bash as it does appear to have drifted a touch nearer Chester than Manchester !!

I've just had a word with Drew from Manchester Bass Lounge and he is prepared to try and get some of his distributers there if this is the sort of way you want to go.
So the likes of Gallien Kruger, MarkBass, Westside Distribution (Mesa Boogie, Elixir, Mono, Pedaltrain,Dunlop), Sandberg etc.
Not sure how you would feel about going down that route.

The December edition of Bass Guitar Magazine (hit my doormat this morning) has a review of the last South East Bash and it sounds pretty impressive, with a lot of useful detail about how it's set up and what goes on.

I can't commit to significant time organising, but I can ask a couple of peeps I know in the Mcr / Sk music network if any of the top bass players they work with would be willing to come and give a master-class or generally hang out, if that would be welcome. (Of course some of the people I'm thinking of might be among us...)

ps see the reviews of SEB here if you haven't already:
