Sweet, that lavender ray is interesting :)

I also saw an albert lee with a flamed maple top in pink burst or something like that in my local clown control before it closed down, i'm not one for pink finishes but my god it looked amazing!

EDIT: i think it may have been one of these

not as common as fenders or their copies! id like to hope my ray is the only one like it, the blue dawn finish is pretty damn rare anyways, so im fairly confident mine is the only one with a status graphite neck :)

give ernie ball a quick email with the serial number, they will tell you what month it was builit in :)

plus if you take the neck off, a date stamp can be found on the neck pocket (tis on mine anyways)
Thanks for the info Dave.

The year is good enough for me. :) 1992 is pretty old! Is there a particular year which was a good for Ernie ball musicman basses?
The newest ones are probaly the best but personally I love the late 80s/early 90s ones.

They're all great but i love the transitional ones in the 90's, the ones without the skunk stripes, with the new style bridge, the metal battery cover and birdseye necks, though that's from a completely aesthetic point of view. I think they're all as good as each other really.
