That’s a stunner Kev, and looks mint condition 👍

Yeah it's in great shape, hasn't been played much I don't think!

I think it would really suite a matte black pick guard rather than regular black, so i'll be on the hunt for one of those.  All recommendations gratefully received!

See my post on page 55 (I fitted one to my CS 4HH). Looks far better.   From here: https://www.pickguardplanet.com/

Oh yes, you've sold me completely there.  I'll get a quote, website seems a bit of a toughie to navigate, did you go for regular thickness Colour 36: Matte Black Single Layer .090"?

I sold my last Stingray a few years ago during some... ehhh... legal challenges, let's say, with my ex ( sold for €750, what was I thinking?) . A trade this week got me back in the game. I'd still love a go of a Sterling but this 95 'ray is a very nice piece of kit, it must be said.

Yep, exactly that. In special instructions I requested a bevelled edge as it wasn’t clear that it came with one as standard. It came with one anyway and they didn’t seem to charge me any extra, so I assume that was standard.

Out of interest, how long did you have to wait to receive a response to an order request?  Nothing back yet…

They were pretty quick iirc. I imagine you’ll hear something over the next day or two (weekend and all that).

That's one of those with the 'transition' bridge (or that's what I was told it was known as) i.e. the old style bridge but without the damping felts. I had a black 95 Ray with the same type of bridge a fair few years back.

@Duarte I have had a Sterling 5 in HS.

Good bass but the volume drop on the single coil neck pickup (position 5) was not convenient. The HH has all positions with the same output.

The HH Ray (Standard or Special) is very nice as well, but the Sterling with the series routing adds extra bief to the sound.

My SR5 Special. And it really is special; by far the best Music Man I've ever played

There is just something about these Specials, isn't there?  I borderline frankly didn't like the last Stingray I played at a bass show in 2015 or so, but these just "fit" me so nicely.  I usually have to break an instrument in for a while before I gig it; I gigged my Special 4 days after taking delivery!
