Feast your eyes Jaydee lovers.

My newly received Jaydee Roadie 2A Custom build.

Pics are going up on John's site soon, but these will have to do for now.

18mm string spacing
Custom body shape
Blue LED's on side and front on neck
Teardrop String Anchors
Chrome Hardware
Custom Slap Groove

and most importantly, she plays and sounds beautiful.

Cheers, Lee

Hi, How about some pictures of yours? The fretless GA sounds interesting.

"..Because there just isn't enough JD PORN... is there?" B)

My fret-less, which was built fretted and was then de-fretted! I picked it up second hand in the late 1990's. Also, I understand that the pick ups are not original.. but they still look and sound very, very good!

Hope you enjoy all the pics!

Thank you. Nice looking bass, the GA body style is still my favorite. I can see where the fretslots were filled, but what about the dot markers. Were those filled in as well?

Any chance of some more photos?

No problem! & thanks for the message Greg. B)

These are the pics of my GA24 custom 'Infinity' BASS! (built by J.D. between early 2001 and summer 2002). I also have other pics taken during the build which I will share at some point.

This is the Bass that I always wanted John to build for me, and has nearly all of the elements in the design of almost every range of Bass he has ever built, but it's still unique. Four-band parametric EQ and 11 mother-of-pearl 'Infinity' inlay set into the fret-board. Finished in opaque Black. (No LED's).

A couple of years' before I had met Martin Petersen @ The Bass Gallery In Camden and he had For Sale a really beautiful opaque black-finish J.D. Custom GA24 with Saturn moon inlays. I played it through an Eden Navigator, and it produced this fantastic smooth/rounded sound; had the best action of any Bass I had played, and I really WANTED it!! I would come back with cash after I got paid, and try and drive the price down, or get a case thrown in.. Big MISTAKE!! When I came back.. SOLD!!

The initial conversation about the build was a little awkward.. I had already owned a Roadie, an MK; had the Classic, and a fret-less and I wanted the Bass to be personal to me. John sent me off with lots of copies of his promotional photos (collected over the years), and I spent a bit of time cutting and gumming before deciding on the design.. I handed over the initial payment.. and this is the result. It took a long time.. but well worth it.. thanks J.D. B)

Thanks for reading; and for all your comments!

Nice blend of GA and Calibas styling. I think the "figure of eights" are actually infinity symbols. There is a guy in the US that posts on here now and again that has a S1 MK with the same type of inlays. I bet the matt finish is a swine to keep from shining up in the places where your body makes contact with the finish though.
