Hey guys.

Heres a little back story on the bass

"
As in previous threads, I told the story of getting my beloved P bass back from a freind of mine and wanting to kit it out for 70's 80's Funk.

Before picture.,

So i went about purchasing.

A set of EMG's. £50
A gold Anodized scratchplate £15
Gold Pickup and bridge covers (The pickup one had to be gold plated as no one has ever manufactured them) £40
Gold plated thumbrest :) £12
Optima 24KT strings £32

The Emgs were awkward to get in and i had to rout out the wood to get the battery to fit. Plus i had to replace all the pots that came with it due to the originals being absoloutly terrible.

Too bad my camera doesant pick up gold too well but here she is!

The Emgs really give the P some treble bite which i love."

So there we have it. 20 frets, Maple fingerboard, EMG pickups, ALL GOLD hardware. Made in Japan, Great condition with a couple of dings on the back of the bass Its a great player and has been my main bass for a number of years now.

Price is £275

(I am in based in Bristol) I wont send the bass via post however i can meet up halfway to most places in the UK (Especially around the Reading/London area.)

PS: Heres links of various threads on talkbass about the instrument and reactions/progress.

I just want a jazz :)[/quote]

But, didn't you sell your Geddy because you didn't get on with Jazzes? Or have your needs changed?

Just curious, don't worry, I'm not the spanish inquisition

Oi, I haven't bought ort sold a bass for over a week
All joking aside, I've got what I want now, one good Precision and one good Jazz. I've also got a nice project bass, a '76 Shergold Marathon which I'll finish and sell in order to buy another project bass, but gone are the days of driving to all corners of the country (including to your good self Shockwave) buying every bass known to man.
Chris
PS love that bass by the way.

I bought the Geddy Lee in question and, in my opinion, it had a weak and stringy tone, nothing like the Jazz I have now, so I can completely understand why he sold it but still wants a Jazz

Having seen this bass in the flesh today, it's *much* nicer in real life than it looks in the pics - they don't do it justice.

Mark.
