Clean Bandit - Rather be

Hello.

I've got a dep gig this sat and 'rather be' by Clean Bandit has just been added to the set.
I've just had a quick listen to it on my lunch and there's no 'real' bass guitar part on there - seems to be synth / keys etc.

Has anyone either transcribed it, or do any of you play a version within a standard drums, guitar, bass, keys set up? If so, what have you been playing?

That is a clean slate that you can have a lot of fun with,
You will need to be the glue that the sequence doesn't need...
but I bet you will need it live.
I would be thinking you need to have bass and drums pretty active as
that twee top line will need a lot of help, IMO.

Could be a real slammer if you can put the work in

Started doing this with my band a couple of weeks ago. Straight drums, bass, keys & voice with guitar coming in on the chorus in the funk rhythm style. Goes down a treat! I've pretty much copped the synth line throughout, it shouldn't be too taxing for intermediate players & above.

Meanwhile, over on Youtube... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=clean+bandit+rather+be+bass+cover

Some scorching stuff there!

Almost 3 years late to the party, but I've never had to gig this until recently and found that I enjoyed it more than anticipated (mainly due to gratuitous octave pedal usage):

Also just read this..way to late, but nontheless, here is the way I've played it... (Bass is set up a little bit in Front for better Hearing)

Hope you like it

My band play this, drums, guitar, bass, vocals......so as a result, I get to stretch out a tiny bit more than the Jools recording (which is excellent I think.....people say there's no good performances on there?!). I also play the choruses with a low octave on, give it that slightly synthy/sub vibe.
It's fun to learn the main violin riff too, chuck that in a little bit. Love the second verse groove too.

Completely forgot that we have an excerpt on Youtube of it:

Bit weird that the clip starts with the solo, but whatever haha, you get the idea.
Headphones/decent speakers absolutely necessary.
