Ooooooooft!!! Just received my Nordy NP4V, along with the La Bella flats I had on the latest acquisition (charcoal frost).

I'm sure this is old news for many of you, but...

LUSH.

The Nordy has more of a BKP '58 character wrapped up in velvet, still punchier than the CS '62. Perfect for motown bits but, definitely great for punk and the like with rounds and covers off.

The mojo of these covers is undeniable...!

Ah cheers @Lw.!

Glad to see this finished with the right pickup and covers etc. Now it's all about just playing it... Having said that, I may well send the neck over to Mark to paint the headstock matching with the body....

... and it started to tickle me adding a J pickup to the purple bass! When I ordered the bass it was gonna be my only P and wanted to keep it as a 'pure p' but now that I've two more basses it may add to the variety of tones.... Not a thing I desperately need, but could happen - with a 4 way tone switch for J/ PJ parallel / PJ series / P it could be very interesting! I'd keep it to two pots and not drill the side for the jack, keep the original lay out.

... I am weak! Crossposting (apologies!) but thought I'd share since relevant here...

Found I needed an excuse to put a 60's pickup now that I have the modern / dirty ones and a '57... spoke with Mark and..... likely something in this line will turn up by my 35th birthday :D

I've done a heckuvalot of digging into the J/MM dilemma - installed a series/parallel circuit and a tone switch allowing me to do bypass / 22pf / 100pf and..... voila!!! I do not think I need to do any mods - the series push pull is very convincing for the times I want to do jazzy stuffs or slap on that kind of EQ.

.... I will confess it is a jazz necked P.... I've the dirty pickup, the modern and punchy, the 57 vintage.... I am missing one bass to load in the NP4 (62 inspired) and finish off my wall of P's

Maybe I’ve missed something but has Limelight ever made a ‘51 or ‘56 style single coil Precision?

Nope not to the best of my knowledge.

I’d have one by now otherwise surely!

I’ve emailed Mark - awaiting response. I’m in LA at the moment so the -8hr time zone difference means I’ll probably get a reply when I’m fast asleep!

I forgot to ask whether he does short scales as well. Has anyone ever ordered a Limelight Mustang for example…?

Yeah it’s a pity! Otherwise I’d have a mustang ala JMJ and a 51p p bass…!

Same here! Oh well, I’m still GASing for a Limelight Flea Jazz in shell pink with a tort guard. Or maybe a Precision in the same colours. Or maybe a Guy Pratt “Betsy” Jazz in Burgundy mist with a Parchment guard…

OFFTOPIC: Well. I resolved by selling back my telecaster guitar (one week old, but great reminder that my guitar days are proper gone and I've no business with guitars) and getting a Fender JMJ in Daphne blue that I'll be picking up this Sunday :D Nitro, Lollipop tuners, clay dots... should gel really nicely with my Limelight P's!

Thank you! Yeah, it adds a lot of swag to the bass I have to say - a very unplanned Sean Hurley tribute but having said that it feels natural and made sense.

I am a fan of having vintage winks to my P basses, I love my purple metallic with the covers on!
