[/quote] Nope, 70 is not really that old, but I'm guessing that Vera Lynn has led a 'less demanding' lifestyle. I remember being mildly shocked at seeing (on DVD) Winter shuffle onto stage for the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival (the 3-yearly concerts organised by Clapton for his Antigua rehab facility) and have to sit down for his short performance, so I reckon it's quite an achievement for him still to have been touring when he died seven years later. As for why he was still touring while in such frail health, I guess that's just what he was used to doing. BB King also has serious health problems and had to sit through the Royal Albert Hall concert I attended about 10 years ago, but he's still touring and I quite expect to read some similar news about him dying while on tour one day. Felt [i]slightly[/i] cheated that JW played most of the gig on his Erlewine Lazer and may not have been alone in that sentiment. A cheer went up when a roadie finally handed him the Firebird.
