thanks, bit off topic, could you tell me , what i am doing wrong , how to use a boss tuner out of a amp, and be able to cut the sound and still tune,

I guess it depends on the amp, but in my experience ......
if the amp has a 'Tuner out' socket you still have to turn down the output control from the amp to tune in silence.

plug the guitar into the tuner and then the tuner into the same input you normally use on your amp. When you switch the tuner off it is true bypass, ie it just connects the input straight through and does nothing to the signal

Almost anything will be better than the Peaveys. They never did sort out their horn driver which is a shame as the bass drivers are generally good. What's your budget and what will you use them for?

Thanks, pubs, really. just trying to make things a bit easier to transport and carry, the power amp is peavy 1600.
until i typed in pa speakers in ebay, i am now lost with prices, quality ect.

JBL 612 passives are pretty good.
HK pro 15 at £288 per cab seem a starting point reference
altho HK aren't the name they were and I've heard lots of issues
with various models based around the horn and x-over plate..
Just a cheapy design subject to a few breakages...

We tried the 12pro and didn't like it but we had other issues with the P.A
so unfair to put all the balme on the way we used the monitor..
but a active Wharfedale which are also cheap as chips, performed far better..

I think at a certain pricepoint, then warranty becomes more of a factor as wel
so be careful where you get them and where you may have to send them back...

If you really want to rationalise/save carrying stuff I'd think about actives. They are getting better all the time and you'll get great reliability and functionality. You'll get £200 for the IPR1600, less if its the old heavy Peavey amp. (I'm looking for a third IPR1600 if you do sell)

RCF, Mackie (not the Thumps) EV, JBL, Wharfedale, HK all worth a look at/listen to. Even the better Behringers are going to sound better than your Peavey but I'd look at other brands.

Second Hand you should be able to pick up some bargains if you want passive speakers, everyone is updating their passives to actives because they make life a lot easier for anyone other than techno nerds like me.

I'd look for a powered pair of Rcf art 322s or 325s. Great all rounders with smooth top end and good reliability. Don't bother with the 312s, 315s, 412s etc as the 1 inch tweeters are poor. A pair of 322a's went for well under £400 on ebay recently.

We went to Yamaha DXR/DSR to replace QSC as I think they are as good...
so no need to pay for QSC and Yam match the 7 year warranty. Mind you,
never heard of a QSC going back, so..??

I think you need to hear them in a shop A/B'd with others you have nailed down.
I did this @ Andertons and it was a good thing to hear.

One thing to really beware of, IMO.. is these small line array units like Elements as you need so many units to get the
sound up and that is an expensive way to do it ... Ditto, the Bose variant as well.
