The Alan Lomax archive of field recordings has been put online here http://www.culturalequity.org/.

Hours of field recordings from 1946 to 1991 from all over the world. Great to dip into.

Good to see a fellow lover of the Lomax field recordings :)

Back into the heavier stuff after going through a few Stravinsky cds I found in a drawer. Soldier's Tale was the highlight.

Torche - Harmonicraft. Pop-Doom. I find them charming.

Summoner - Phoenix: A really lofi mixture of Baroness and Isis with Thin Lizzy guitar harmonies. Probably not many people's tastes musically or production wise but I must admit I quite like them.

Silly music-on-hold while trying to contact HMRC NI dept :(
You'll be there a while (30 minutes is our current record) that's assuming they don't just cut you off after a while <_<

That's strange, because i've never really liked their singles, but they've improved massively with their new vocalist Marc, a much better and more mature sound.

A Dragonforce song less than seven minutes long?! Impossible! :gas:

Not as impossible as a good Dragonforce single. Their lesser known stuff was amazing, the singles not so much. For the latest album they've managed to get the whole album as good as their less known stuff, so it's damn good.

Ps. The kind of unkown stuff i'm talking about, barely even sounds like the same band:

Now listening to Steve Reich's Music For Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ :)

Great to read that this piece is not forgotten by all. Good stuff.

Listening to Bass on the Broadband internet radio, as per Matteo's posting.
