What are you listening to right now?

I don’t generally drink from Sunday to Thursday. I allow a couple on Friday and Saturday nights. I have a rather lovely Parma Violet Whitley & Neill G&T to hand and am currently listening to a recommendation from @NancyJohnson and it’s pretty bloody marvellous (even on the first run through mate).

It is an album by Shudder To Think called ‘Pony Express Record’.

I’m still trying to figure out what ‘post-hardcore’ is - but I like it. Thanks mate.

War!  Freedom in the war!  War!  Freedom in the war!  War!  War!

 Cheers!

Seems uncomfortably appropriate at the moment - what with the posturing @ Mount Rushmore.

Are you thinking about the Rogue Male cover?

Maybe but aside from Sly Stone I don't see much of merit...

Why is it when drawing people for album covers so many artists seem unable to give them any feeling of depth? It can be done, look at a Judge Dredd strip or an early Iron Maiden cover. Or Molly Hatchet's first album.

I just found this. Two pensioners making random silly noises for a quarter of an hour.

It's mind-blowingly brilliant.

Superb! I got into Amon Düül II in Munich in '71, and picked up on Gong through that crowd. Hillage hadn't joined yet (still BL of Khan), but he fit right in when he did. I've spent a LOT of money on Hillage's work, through 777/System 7.

Betty Harris - There's a Break In the Road.

Just heard this on 6 music... it seems to pop up there quite often.

Brilliant track all round, but the drumming is something else.

That's one of my all-time faves!

The drummer was legendary New Orleans hellraiser James Black who also played on this:

I kept my little finger on the string near the bridge to damp it, needs something like slow phase or chorus too 🙂

Saw this and thought of you...

Creative geniuses at work? No, they just needed to extend side one for cassette purposes!

Makes me like them even more!

Excellent, thank you. I've run out of TLRTs so have a smiley :-)
