I couldn't be happier with this bass, finally I managed to buy it.

A good pal of mine owned this bass and I fell for it the instant he first showed it to me. After some part exchanging, sideways dealing, little finger promises and a great deal of bass debate I managed to take it from him, victory.

The waiting makes it sweeter as I felt like this bass was made for me when I first played it. It's light weight at 7.5lbs, sounds proper old school and is in my absolute favorite combination of ash body and maple fingerboard. It's sounds huge with flats, yet crisp and clear and oozing pure roots.

It's a 2013 Limited Edition 1955 Relic, black over sunburst. It's a bit odd as it's 3 tone sunburst which really started in 1958. And it comes in a white tolex case which Fender only used in 1963-'64. I couldn't care less though, the Master Builders must have designed this on a wishlist whim.

Happy, happy days and surely (er, hopefully) the last addition in my group of basses
