15 watts is plenty for a spare room at home...i have a fender rumble 15 at work, not bad at all and also has an external input which is useful.

i also have a peavey microbass 20, also very good for the size but no external 'in' ....currently got my pc sound going thru it and its very LOUD when used as a monitor like this!

i had an orange 20 watt (two in fact!)...total POS

Depending on sounds required, for a rich warm sound the Fender Rumble is great. Ampeg BA108 gives great Ampeggy tones, and the Marshall MB has 2 channels, modern-clean with a compressor, or old-school valvey, with gain.

That said if you can track down a Line6 Lowdown15 that would get my vote. I`ve heard a good few Basschatters play through these when buying basses and those little amps certainly add to the sellability of said basses - they sound great.
