What!? What is this P bass for €27 madness!?
I want in on this!!

Is there a particular time of day these things come up?
I've been looking for a cheap bass to begin learning and was starting to lean towards either the HB P Bass kit or the PB-20. I don't like black and was going to paint it either way. For €27 the decision would be made!

Has anyone ever got a really crappy deko?

Oh, and first post - I joined after seeing this thread.
So, hi all!

Just seen the note at the bottom of the page. They charge 20% UK VAT but they pay VAT in Germany, 19%. Not much difference but a nice little earner when they sell to the UK?

No, what happens is when you start selling a shedload into another EU country, you have to start paying local VAT so that'll be going to HMRC if it makes you feel any better!

At the moment they tend to be coming up about 10am-12pm, mostly around 11am.

This changes quite often. There was a time when they were turning up at about 2am or so.

It's a challenge to be around at the right time and notice that they've turned up.

Good luck.

@CustardFilled - what's the status of your active LP?

Grabbed a 4 string pj deluxe. I had the five string version and it was quite nice so I thought I'd give it a go. No confirmation yet of course!

Edit- just received confirmation. £35 all in all, bargain! Im now buying them for the boxes! It cost me £17 for a box the same size. So for an extra £18 I'm getting another bass shipping box, loads of airpack and a blooming bass! Insane...

Dekos up including right handed acoustic bass.

Acoustic bass more expensive than it used to be: http://www.thomann.d...ic_bassdeko.htm

Some guitars too, e.g. this one: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_cst_24tol_tobacco_sunb_deko.htm "Available on request."

Dekos including bass uke and p-bass.

Normal site.

EDIT: Both instanto-sold-out. I don't know if that's because they were nabbed by automatic software or whether it's Thomann doing things ... not quite database.right.

The PJ4 arrived earlier this week. Plays well and sounds good. Tiny bit of fret buzz, played around with the truss rod and action and got it down to almost nothing. I always find it improves as the strings age anyway.

Anyway, as usual i was playing find the fault... Couldn't work it out this time until i realised that the bridge is about 1mm out on the e string. Problem being that you cant possibly move it 1mm without filling and then re-drilling every hole in the bridge. So i just adjusted the saddles and it plays fine.

Bargain for £35 delivered!

Update: the order has been cancelled, apparently it should never have been confirmed to begin with. Shame, I was intrigued.

Bad form on Thomann's behalf IMHO. If they couldn't supply, then they should have sent you a normal model. Particularly this long after confirmation.

Presumably there was at least one, but it went elsewhere?

Coldflows - got any pics?

It's a lovely colour. Interesting that it's darker than the five string I had from the same series.

And here is the dodgy bridge:

It plays very well, I guess it doesn't matter too much as the scale length should be slightly longer on the e string anyway...
