The rest of the colour and 'tone' is from me and some bits inbetween me and the ap. The amps Eq is there to suit to the room or stage. Musky Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 I'm really not sure there is 'such a desire' for transparent rigs, if by that you mean it's what most players want. There's certainly people that want that but most amps are coloured, deliberately so, by the manufacturers. Trace, Ashdown, SWR, Ampeg, Orange, GK all have 'their' sound characteristics which they market on and find people who like that sound. The end result is what matters though, and if people are happy with the sound of the combination of amps, cabs, basses, effects and technique then everything's good. [/quote] Nope! It's my keyboard players who is in charge of the sound and he knows how i like the sound. Whenever we have a bigger gig with sound company involved i usually have a quick chat with the sound man and let him be aware that i really need those mid freqs!
