I'm getting into reading, used to read guitar long ago and read drums so my rhythm reading is ok ish but I'm lost in bass clef. I could really do with a book full of 1/4 to 1/8 note, simple melodies across all strings to program the note names into my head. I'm playing what I've got rooted from the 7th fret, the book I have is good (simplified sight reading for bass) Hal Leonard, but it concentrates more on timing. Could anyone recommend a book full of study pieces that concentrate on notes rather than timings. I'm not looking for songs, I'm looking for exercises and studies. Simple is good.
