Sawed the neck to thickness and finally could get a go at doing my favorite part of bass building: The volute.

Still in a bit of a rough shape though, further refining will come once I start final shaping of the complete back of the neck.

It's only a matter of taking away the material you don't want. ;)

Ah! You mean remove anything that doesn't look like an elephant, right? That's how they make statues of elephants at any rate, so I thought maybe there was something similar going on here. :D

Anyway, amazing, amazing work!

A few close-ups of the fretwork (someone asked for them on a Dutch forum, might as well place them here to).

Finished sanding the back of the neck and the headstock.

Before I did that I decided to modify the neck profile a little bit, it's slightly asymmetrical now.

Also put on a layer of Danish oil (except for the still to glue neck heel), now it won't get dirty any more, and I was just curious how it was going to look.

One thing I'm curious about with semi-hollow instruments is that how you get all the electronics into the cavities and joined up. You've created a fairly big compartment for the leccy stuff, but I'd still apprecaite descriptions of how you get all your wires from A to B.

Edit: Having thought a bit about the shape of your bass, it does look like it will be easy to wire up. It's a bit more the ES335 and similar shapes that look a bit fiddly to wire up to me.
