The neck pickup on the 714 really rocks, wouldn't have thought that the sound is that usable, especially when recording.

But the - comfortable - neck just feels like a toy now with all the broad neck 5 and 6 string playing that I do.

Apart from the appeal of having the stereo option, two of the original pots crapped out on me during (two different) rehearsals, resulting in a mute bass. But apart from that it is a crackin' instrument, especially the neck is superbly made (and now there are no more pots to speak of...).
