NS Designs NXT 5 Sold!!!!!
£850

Recommended Posts

Price drop to £699
[s]Thinking of upgrading [/s]Have upgraded to DB, so have decided to offer my NXT 5 up for sale. It is the black model, bought new at Christmas and it has been a great introduction to upright playing. In excellent condition as you would expect for a four month old instrument, there is a tiny area of minor discolouration at the dusty end of the fingerboard, certainly not wear and tear as I've never ventured that far up!! I have also coloured over some of the dot markers, as I found there were just too many and it was a distraction - it is now pretty much the same as your bass guitar, rather than a dot at every semitone.
It comes with the standard soft case and tripod plus a spare set of strings.
It will have to be collection only I'm afraid, from Swindon but I will include an endpin stand which would cost over a hundred quid to buy.
So you will be saving £200 on a new instrument, plus strings at about £100 plus endpin stand at another £100. I must be crazy!!

(please note - The endpin is included but not the tripod stand pictured above. The tripod pictured below is included)

In answer to pm's, I have replaced the stock strings with the NS designs Traditional set. The blurb says "The Traditional Double Bass set is constructed and tensioned similarly to acoustic bass strings, for a warm tone, feel, and great bowed response. They are essentially similar to the Helicore upright bass strings, but sized for the NS EUB's. These were formerly sold as the "NS.Helicore" string set, and have recently undergone a packaging and name change. If you're looking for a more traditional vibe, but don't want to wrap extended length strings around the bottom of the bass, this is probably your best bet"

Possible trade for a 4 string NS, which would save me dragging the Double bass out for practice. It does my head in switching between the 4 string DB and the 5 string NXT. I can do it on Bass guitar no problem!!

Would love this, I'd really like an EUB.
The black finish looks really cool.

You won't find one cheaper than this! <_<

I keep coming and looking at this advert, I've also just spent the best part of an hour and a half reading through 30 odd pages of the Talkbass NXT mega-thread !

Question - do you need anything else with it ? I kept reading that it's best to use it with a preamp, I've got a Markbass LM2 that has a balanced input.
It's really for recording that I'm intrigued by it, I'm doing a lot of writing and recording at the moment, and using DB samples in Logic played on a keyboard. My music's very Peter Gabriel'ish.

Hi

I have a four string NS Designs NXT and have always regretted not getting a five string one (play a five string acoustic double bass) so this seems like a perfect opportunity if you are still willing to trade ?

My bass is about 3 years old and has been used daily so it is not perfect (quite a few marks due to wear and tare) but if this is a practice instrument for you then it should be ok. The strings on it are Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Low tension and are only a few months old but if you prefer your strings we could swap them. To make up for the condition of yours compared to mine you could either keep all of the extras like the stand and strings or I could give you some cash your way to make up the difference. I will upload a pic when I get home (in college now)

Matt
