Chap on this youtube clip used a GorillaPod flexible tripod with bendy legs to grip the headstock

If you use a good quality tape it shouldn't leave any residue. Otherwise a couple of plastic zip ties might work.

This is the sort of thing you want to look at, should fit most headstocks, use some cloth to protect your finish, most cameras having 1/4" thread will fit, but the main thing is you'll need a camera with pretty wide angle lens to get yourself in shot, go pro styley..

You get clips for them i think, just hook it on to the headstock.

Gaffa tape; not pretty to look at, but pretty effective.

The sticky stuff comes off now problem. Peanut butter. Also works on normal sticker residue.

I was the same when I got told it. Eventually caved and tried it. Put a bit on, leave for a few mins, rub of with [decent] kitchen roll, then polish as normal.

[/quote]That's good knowledge (if not a little weird) right there. Certainly better than using lighter fuel or white spirit; tastes better too.

The reason I tried it, was because I couldn't get any lighter fluid that day. Was gonna try it, no shops were selling it and found peanut butter in the cupboard. Admittedly I was a bit sceptical at first, but it actually worked.
