timo
I got this 2nd hand a few years ago and had it defretted when I wanted to be Les Claypool. Knowing owning a real Carl Thompson rainbow bass was nothing more than a dream, I figured the closest I could achieve was a rainbow painted bass. I must confess the finish isn't of the highest quality but it looks rather striking from a distance (or from the audience as you stomp proudly around the stage). It was made in 1993 and has an active 2 band EQ, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and alder body, I seem to remember the grain being quite nice if you were to strip it and go for a natural/transparent finish and it comes with a tatty but usable gig bag. It's in need of a couple of knobs and a new set of strings. I'd like £100 collected from Sheffield or will post at cost, you're welcome to come and give it a try.
