Now sold - thanks for the interest!

Having spunked the family Christmas money away on a rather delish G&L I need to sell something or the kids get nowt from Santa.

So, with a real sense of sadness, I'm offering my Gibson SG in worn cherry. These are really amazing basses, especially for the asking price. US made, all mahogany with a 30.5 inch scale, two Gibson USA pickups & Grover machine heads. The mudbucker does what you would expect, huge output & bottom end that can be smooth & refined or really snarly. The bridge pick up is a different beast though, much more snappy & punchy & it works great for finger style funk. The bass is comparatively light, compact and an absolute breeze to play with a low, buzz free action.

The bass is mint, not a mark on it & I have made a couple of very useful mods to it; firstly the awesome Hipshot Supertone bridge which adds a lot of sustain over the stock bridge & much more adjustability. Secondly I have reversed the bridge pick up which moves the pole pieces slightly nearer the middle, this adds a bit more punch & helps even out the volume of the mudbucker. Dead easy to reverse both mods if you wish though.

The sale includes the unmarked Gibson hardshell case (shaped, black tolex & plush cream interior) the original bridge unit (although one bolt needs replacing) & I even have the Gibson shipping box. Asking £500 which includes shipping within Zone 1, not interested in any offers or trades, thank you.

Hm, that's not TOO far for when I make one of my routine trips to Leeds...will have to see if finances stretch enough that I can afford it!!

How high is the action on this? Looks higher than I'm used to, I'm guessing it was raised with the pickup modification? Or is it just the angle of the photos?

Bass & treble sides at the 12th, not sure these are much better pictures tbh. The action is a little lower than my G&L &, with a bit of time, I could probably lower it further but I find the bass so easy to play as it stands that I've not bothered.

If you were looking to collect then there's some wiggle room on the pricing.
