Good Combo Amp for Slapping

Hi, I've been playing bass for a few years now and I moved up from a rubbish starter bass to a yamaha RBX 774 a year or two ago. I really like my bass and i don't think its going anywhere, anytime soon.

However I don't have a good amp at all. Mainly because when i go to gigs i use the one on stage so it doesn't really matter.

So I've played with a Peavey Bassic 112 75watt combo amp before

and I really like the slap sound, its simply amazing but
1. its old so i can't find anywhere to buy it
2. I've read that it distorts a lot when turned up and looses all the clarity of its tone (i don't know if this is true because i can't turn it up all the way at school)

Anyway i can't find it so I'd rather have an alternative.
Would this new version of the 112 be any good for slap?

Or could anyone suggest any alternatives?
-I would like it to be good at all styles but if the budget won't stretch just good for slap bass
-The budget is about £200 maybe up to £250 if its good

Thanks in advance :)
